Huney Privacy Policy

Overview
Huney helps households plan tasks, reminders, meals, recipes, calendars, car care, maintenance, and shared responsibilities. This policy explains what information Huney collects, how that information is used, when it may be shared, and the choices you have.
Information You Provide
Huney collects the information you choose to enter into the app. This may include household setup details, rooms, tasks, reminders, routines, meals, recipes, grocery or ingredient information, receipt or product details you import, car care details, maintenance notes, household member names or roles, and other information you add to organize your household.
If you contact support, Huney may collect the information you include in your message, such as your email address, device details, screenshots, and a description of the issue.
Account and Household Sync
You can use Huney with information stored on your device. If you create an account or join a shared household, Huney may use cloud sync to keep household information available across your devices and household members.
When you use shared household features, other members of the same household may be able to see information added to that household, including tasks, meals, recipes, routines, calendar-related plans, completion history, member details, and other shared household content. Please only add information you are comfortable sharing with the household members you invite or join.
Where Information Is Stored
Some Huney information may be stored locally on your device. If you use account sync or shared household features, Huney may store household data using cloud service providers so the app can sync information across devices and household members.
Huney currently uses service providers such as Supabase for account and household sync, Cloudflare for backend services, Resend for certain account or invite-related email delivery, Kroger for grocery and cart features when you choose to use them, and Apple for App Store purchases and platform services.
Calendar Access
Calendar access is optional. If you choose to connect your calendar, Huney uses calendar information to help plan household tasks, routines, and meals around real-life events. Depending on the features you enable, Huney may read calendar event timing, availability, calendar names, or related event details needed to schedule household plans.
Huney may also create, update, or remove Huney-related calendar events when you choose to publish meals, routines, or other household plans to your calendar. Huney does not use calendar access for advertising.
Location Access
Location access is optional. If you allow location access, Huney uses approximate location to support weather-aware reminders, seasonal home-care suggestions, or nearby household planning features. Huney does not use location for tracking or advertising.
Recipes, Receipts, and Grocery Features
If you add a recipe manually or parse a recipe from a link, Huney uses recipe information to organize ingredients, instructions, timers, meal plans, and cooking mode. Recipe content may be stored locally or synced with your household if you use account sync or shared household features.
If you import a receipt, photo, PDF, or product details, Huney uses that content to help identify household items, restock needs, groceries, or related tasks. If you use grocery cart features, Huney may send the product or cart information needed to the selected grocery provider so the cart can be prepared for you.
Ask Huney and Assisted Features
Huney may offer assisted features, such as Ask Huney, that help you find, summarize, or act on information already saved in your household. If you use these features, Huney may use the household information relevant to your request to provide a response.
Huney does not sell your household content, and assisted features are intended to support the app functions you choose to use.
How Information Is Used
Huney uses information to provide and improve app features, including:
- Creating a household task list from the intake quiz
- Planning tasks, reminders, meals, and routines
- Supporting shared household features
- Publishing meals or routines to your calendar when you choose to do so
- Syncing household information across devices and household members
- Preparing grocery and restock workflows when you choose to use them
- Providing Ask Huney or assisted answers when you choose to use them
- Responding to support requests
- Maintaining app reliability and security
Diagnostics and Reliability
Huney may receive basic diagnostic, crash, performance, or device information through Apple or other service providers to help identify bugs, improve reliability, and keep the app secure. This information is used to understand and fix app issues, not to sell personal information.
Data Sharing
Huney does not sell your personal information. Huney may share information with service providers that help operate the app, provide account sync, host backend services, send support or account-related messages, process purchases through Apple, provide grocery or cart features you choose to use, or maintain app reliability and security.
Huney may also disclose information if required to comply with the law, protect the rights and safety of users, prevent fraud or abuse, or enforce app terms or policies.
Purchases
Premium purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple. Huney may receive information needed to confirm subscription status, but Apple manages payment details.
Your Choices
You can choose which information to add to Huney, whether to connect a calendar, whether to allow location access, whether to create an account, whether to use shared household features, and whether to use grocery or receipt features. You can manage calendar, location, notification, and photo permissions in your device settings.
Huney includes account deletion in the app when you are signed in. You can also contact support to request help accessing, correcting, or deleting account or household information. Some information may remain in backups, logs, purchase records managed by Apple, or records Huney is required to keep for legal, security, or operational reasons.
Data Retention
Huney keeps information for as long as needed to provide the app features you use, maintain account and household sync, respond to support requests, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. If you ask Huney to delete account or household information, Huney will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify the information unless it must be retained for legitimate operational, legal, or security reasons.
Children
Huney is designed for household organization by adults and is not intended for children to create accounts independently. Household profiles or member details may include children if an adult chooses to add them for household planning purposes.
Security
Huney uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No app, device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but Huney works to protect household information and limit access to what is needed to operate the app.
Policy Updates
Huney may update this policy from time to time. When the policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
